Q4 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Marion County?

There were 22 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter that live in Marion County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows that 17 men and five women were released in Marion County. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 66-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 2002.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Joe V. Warren. He was convicted of homicide in 2002 when he was 49 years old. He is now 66.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter in each Marion County municipality.
