Village of Germantown President and Board of Trustees met May 21.

The regular monthly Board meeting of the President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Germantown was held on May 21, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. Those present included the following: Trustees: Michael Albers, Ken Albers, Ken Brauer, Fred Lucas, Roger Rickhoff and Jerald Schroeder. Clerk Dawn Lakenburges, Village Attorney Aaron Epplin, Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles and Supt. Steve Mullins and were also present. Trustee was absent. Village President Duane Ripperda was absent.
The minutes of the previous month’s meetings were available for review. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Ken Brauer, second by Trustee Ken Albers. Motion carried.
With the absence of President Ripperda, Trustee Michael Albers made a motion approving Trustee Roger Rickhoff to run the meeting. Trustee Fred Lucas seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles gave his report next. Wuebbles asked the Board to consider changing the warning/fines on minor offenses such as grass blown on streets, etc. Attorney Aaron Epplin will draft an ordinance for next month.
Supt. Steve Mullins gave his report next. Trustee Roger Rickhoff discussed complaints by the residents along Mill Street and the drainage problems coming from Old Towne Subdivision. Supt. Mullins will discuss the problem with Alan Huelsmann and report to the Board next month.
Trustee Jerald Schroeder, Finance & Insurance Chairman, said the Committee met to discuss several things. The Banner Project is still in the art phase. Clerk Lakenburges will continue to work with Display Sales on a final design. All the main computers will be replaced this year with the closing of support of Windows 7. Clerk Lakenburges will work on getting prices and report back. A decision to upgrade the flood insurance at the Sewer plant was made by the committee.
Trustee Ken Albers, Water & Sewer Committee Chairman, said the Committee will work on water rates.
Trustee Fred Lucas, Building & Equipment Chairman, commended the maintenance workers on the windows at the Mill Shed.
Trustee Ken Brauer, Zoning TIF & Subdivision Committee Chairman, reported that the Committee met to discuss a couple TIF requests. Diesen-Winkler Post #325 has requested $5000 as part of the A/C Replacement at the Legion. Germantown Park District has asked up to $4000 to upgrade the Park’s water service as part of the addition to the pavilion. Both projects were approved. Formal agreements will be drafted and prepared for next month’s meeting.
The date of July 16, 2019 was set for the annual Joint Review Board Meeting. More details when known.
Trustee Jerald Schroeder made a motion to pay all bills as presented. Trustee Michael Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Trustee Rickhoff presented Trustee Fred Lucas with a plaque thanking him for his years of service as a Village Trustee.
Trustee Fred Lucas then made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Ken Brauer seconded the motion and the motion carried. Meeting adjourned sine die.

Trustees Jerald Schroeder and Ken Brauer took the Oath of Office as newly re-elected Village Trustees.
At this time, the Tornado Warning sirens went off indicating a tornado warning for our area.
The Board decided to table all new business.
Trustee Michael Albers made a motion to adjourn. Trustee Jerald Schroeder seconded the motion and the motion carried.
