Bartelso School District 57 Board met April 24.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

Vice President, Jody Grawe called the special meeting to order at 6:00. Present to roll call were Board Members Jill Spihlmann, Jaime Becker, Jill Daugherty, Bob Gerdes and Jody Grawe. Also present were Superintendent, Tom Siegler and incoming Board Members Eric Varel and Tanya Loepker. Absent were Board members Mark Toennies and Tanya Kampwerth.

Based upon the election results, Mark Toennies, Jill Daugherty, Tanya Loepker and Eric Varel have been duly elected to the Bartelso Board of Education for a 4-year term.

All newly elected Board Members were asked to rise and repeat the oath as directed by the Vice President of the Board.

Motion by Jaime Becker, seconded by Jill Spihlmann to appoint Mr. Siegler as President pro-tem of the Board until the election of the Board President; Jaime Becker, yea; Jill Daugherty; yea; Bob Gerdes, yea; Jody Grawe, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; 5 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Jill Daugherty, seconded by Bob Gerdes to appoint Mr. Siegler as Secretary pro tem of the Board until the election of the Board Secretary; Jill Daugherty; yea; Bob Gerdes; yea; Jody Grawe, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; Jaime Becker, yea; 5 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Jody Grawe, seconded by Jill Spihlmann to adjourn the current school board sine die; Bob Gerdes, yea; Jody Grawe, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; Jaime Becker, yea; Jill Daugherty, yea; 5 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

The current board adjourned at 6:13p.m.

Mr. Siegler recognized the former board members and officers and thanked them for their time on the Board.

President, Pro Tem called the new meeting to order.

The President Pro Tem declared the floor open for nominations for President of the school Board to serve a two year term. A show of hands voted 5 votes for Jill Daugherty.

Motion by Jaime Becker, seconded by Tanya Loepker to close the nominations for President of the Bartelso School District 57 Board of Education and elect by majority vote Jill Daugherty as President for a two year term; Jill Spihlmann, yea; Jaime Becker, yea; Bob Gerdes, yea; Eric Varel, yea; Tanya Loepker, yea; Jill Daugherty, yea; 6 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

President, Daugherty declared the floor open for nominations for Vice-President of the Board to serve a two-year term. A show of hands voted 5 votes for Jill Spihlmann.

Motion by Eric Varel, seconded by Tanya Loepker to close the nominations for Vice-President of Bartelso School District 57 Board of Education and elect by majority vote Jill Spihlmann as Vice-President for a two year term; Jaime Becker, yea; Bob Gerdes, yea; Eric Varel, yea; Tanya Loepker, yea; Jill Daugherty, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; 6 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

President, Daugherty declared the floor open for nominations for Secretary of the Board to serve a two year term. A show of hands voted 5 votes for Jaime Becker.

Motion by Bob Gerdes, seconded by Jill Spihlmann to close the nominations for Secretary of the Bartelso School District 57 Board of Education and elect by majority vote Jaime Becker Secretary for a two year term; Bob Gerdes, yea; Eric Varel, yea; Tanya Loepker, yea; Jill Daugherty, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; Jamie Becker, yea; 6 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Jamie Becker, seconded by Jill Spihlmann to appoint Sharon Schulte as recording secretary of the Board of Education; Eric Varel, yea; Tanya Loepker, yea; Jill Daugherty, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; Jaime Becker, yea; Bob Gerdes, yea; 6 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Eric Varel, seconded by Bob Gerdes to hire Janelle Snead as the 5th grade homeroom and Middle School Math teacher for FY20; Eric Varel, yea; Tanya Loepker, yea; Jill Daugherty, yea; Jill Spihlmann, yea; Jaime Becker, yea; Bob Gerdes, yea; 6 yeas; 0 nays. Motion carried.

Motion by Tanya Loepker, seconded by Jaime Becker to adjourn the meeting; Motion carried 6-0.

The meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
