Runners 1438373 639x239

Taylorville Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.

The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary hosted its 11th annual Heart and Sole 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, September 21. Men, women and children of all ages ran or walked the 5K course through the streets of Taylorville and enjoyed the chance to be outside for a good cause.

“We utilized a race event company again this year,” said TMH Auxiliary liaison Debbie Johnson. “One of the great things they offered were timing chips so runners and walkers would get fast and accurate result times.”

Meant to encourage the community to live an active and healthy lifestyle, it is one way the Auxiliary promotes the mission of Taylorville Memorial Hospital to improve the health of the people and community it serves. Through the support of participants and sponsors, proceeds from this event help fund the Auxiliary’s current $120,000 pledge in support of the medical technologies fund of the TMH Foundation to purchase new laboratory equipment.
