HSHS Holy Family Hospital issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
The community is invited to a “Know Your Medicare Benefits” seminar on Thursday, October 10, at 6:00 p.m. in the Cedar Community Room at HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville. The program is being hosted in partnership with the Bond County Senior Center. Jill Ohnesorge, executive director for the Senior Center will be conducting this free seminar. From 5:30 to 6 p.m., a light dinner will be offered for those attending.
“We are excited to host this free seminar to assist those in our community who may be new to Medicare or have questions around their current Medicare benefits,” said Barb Strieker, community benefit & outreach facilitator at Holy Family Hospital. “By hosting this event, we hope community members will have a better understanding of their benefit coverage and changes coming in 2020.”
Senior Center Executive Director Jill Ohnesorge is a certified State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselor. SHIP counselors are trained through the Illinois Department on Aging to provide free counseling about Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and prescription drug coverage. Bond County Senior Center has five SHIP certified counselors available to assist individuals.
