Illinois State Senate District 48 issued the following announcement on Oct. 16.
Senior citizens from the Decatur area joined State Senator Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) Wednesday for a free senior resource fair.
The event featured an opportunity for seniors to take advantage of free and discounted services from health care providers as well as state and local groups, such as health screenings and on-site drivers’ license renewals.
“In some cases, senior citizens face financial and logistical barriers to accessing vital care and resources,” Manar said. “Senior fairs allow us to bring these resources to one convenient location and ensure that everyone has access to the services they need.”
The event in Decatur is one of three senior fairs Manar hosted this fall.
