PANA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL: PCH Hosts Join the Journey

Announcement

Pana Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Nov. 4.

Pana Community Hospital is planning a free event called “Join the Journey” that will motivate individuals to live a healthier lifestyle. This event is on Thursday, November 7th from 5-6 pm at the Pana Junior High Auditorium. Special guest speaker Sonya Jones of Season 16 of the hit series the Biggest Loser will share her inspiring story of grit and determination while on the show and how she has maintained her weight loss and found success in her health, personal, and spiritual journeys. Sonya is currently the Outreach Representative for HSHS Medical Group and has inspired thousands of people across the country as a certified speaker.

Sonya Jones was the only female finalist in the show’s 16th season and lost by only.01%, which was the closest loss in the history of Biggest Loser. Sonya lost an incredible 144 pounds while millions of Americans tuned in to watch her step on the scale each week. Prior to being on the show, Sonya was an elementary physical education teacher in Sherman, IL.

Other panel members participating in “Join the Journey” include John McQuillan and Mindy Holthaus both of Pana. John is the Fitness Manager at Pana Community Hospital’s LiveWell Fitness Center. He lost an amazing 160 pounds and has kept this weight off for eight years. John now uses his personal experiences to motivate and challenge members at LiveWell Fitness. Mindy Holthaus of Pana has also made great strides in her weight loss journey while working full time as a Nurse and mother of three.

Join the Journey will also offer a Kidz Fit Zone and healthy food samples with recipes and more. The Kidz Zone is a free supervised exercise event where parents can drop their children off ages 2 and up for a fun time while the parents enjoy the event. Registration for the Kidz Zone begins at 4:30 pm.
