City of Centralia Airport Advisory Committee met Sept. 16.

Members Present: John Denton, Tom Walsh, Andrea Williams, Bill Crain, David Agee, Tom Simpson and Jim Shoemaker
Members Absent: Jack Graham and Dave Agee
Also Present: Kala Lambert- Assistant City Manager
Tom Kasten called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm.
Public Comment:
Approval of Minutes:
Kala presented minutes for the meeting on August 19, 2019. A motion was made by John Denton and Seconded by Andrea Williams to approve the meeting minutes for August, all in favor, motion carried.
Old Business:
Kala stated that she has a meeting with CMT next Monday to go over the obstruction study results showing each of the 200 obstruction in the 3 phases of priority and by property owner. She stated that the engineer has been working with Marion County to get detailed GIS data about the parcels within the protected surfaces. She stated this would conclude the obstruction study and we would begin working on the scope of services agreement for the consulting for the easement and property acquisition phase.
Kala reported the Construct Access Taxiway to Runway 9 started on September 12 and this project is 48 calendar days. She reminded that due to the proximity to the runway, Runway 9/27 would be shut down for the duration of the project.
New Business:
Kala reported that the new M4000 self-serve fuel unit was installed the end of August and is in operation. She reported that the new system was able to tie into Airgo’s internet, therefore, saving the City from purchasing a cellular package. Kala also reported that a large majority of the parts from the old system were returned in order to get the trade in credit, however, the keyboard did remain. She was contacted by another airport to purchase this keyboard since, as QT Pod announced they were no longer servicing the old systems. What remained of the old unit was declared surplus and $150 was collected from the keyboard.
Airport Managers Report- Kala reported the TIPS meeting in Springfield has been scheduled for 1pm on October 10th, 2019. She stated City staff and CMT would be present and if any board member would like to attend, please let her know.
Discussion:
Tom Walsh asked if there has been any hangars rented in the last month and Kala let him know that we still have 4 available.
A motion was made by Jim Shoemaker and Seconded by John Denton to adjourn the meeting.
