Brownstown Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education met Sept. 16.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
The following members were present: Andy Elam, Kent Kistler, Chad Towler, and Laura Willms. Randy Mason entered at 7:15 p.m.
Also present were: Superintendent Mike Shackelford; and Principals Jeff Wooters and Sherry Harmon.
No guests were present.
Donald Bloemker was absent.
Motion by Kistler, seconded by Elam that the consent agenda be approved as follows:
That the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education held on Monday, August 26, 2019 be approved as presented.
Further, that the Treasurer's Report be approved as presented.
Further, that the list of bills be approved as presented.
Further, to authorize the Superintendent and Treasurer to make and repay interfund loans as necessary for the Fiscal Year 2020.
Further, to continue participation with Mid-West Truckers Association in the Illinois School District Drug and Alcohol Consortium.
Further, to approve an Intergovernmental Joint Agreement between OKAW and the LEA.
Further, to allow the destruction of closed meeting audio recordings at least 18 months old or older. Elam, Kistler, Schaub, Towler, Willms, Yes.
A Public Hearing on the budget for the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year for Brownstown Community Unit School District No. 201, Fayette County, State of Illinois was conducted at 7:05 p.m.
Motion by Elam, seconded by Mason to adopt the 2019-2020 Budget for Brownstown Community Unit School District No. 201 as attached.

Motion by Mason, seconded by Elam to approve an intergovernmental with agreement with St. Elmo Community Unit School District #202 to transport St. Elmo Schools a student to FreshStart TLC in Effingham.

Motion by Kistler, seconded by Schaub to approve a Bus Maintenance agreement with Zimmer Body Shop for the 2019-2020 school year.

Mr. Shackelford presented information to the Board that he received from Megan Coy, ISBE Agricultural Education specialist.
Motion by Mason, seconded by Schaub to reestablish an Ag/CTE program at Brownstown Jr-Sr High School.
Further, to instruct the Superintendent to create a job description for an Ag/CTE instructor, and to post the position.
