City of Breese issued the following announcement on Nov. 26.
Due to increased interest in the Christmas Memorial Trees displayed at the City Park, the Lighting Committee would like to remind the community how the process works. For a one-time $100 donation (payable at City Hall) the committee will build a tree with a personalized ornament containing the name of your deceased loved one. The trees will be stored in a city warehouse and will be displayed again and again in following years. If multiple ornaments are requested for one tree there will be a $15 charge for each additional ornament.
If anyone would like a tree for the 2020 holiday season, please sign up and make your donation as soon as possible. The first 10 requests made by September 1st will be ready for display for Christmas 2020. Questions may be referred to either Jean Vogt at 920-9246 or Maribeth Detmer at 526-4038.
