ILLINOIS STATE SENATE DISTRICT 58: Schimpf statement on corruption news

Courtscales088

Illinois State Senate District 58 issued the following announcement on July 17.

The following statement can be attributed to State Senator Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo) regarding the announcement of an agreement between ComEd and the US Attorney’s office:

“I think this agreement paints a damning picture of Illinois government under House Speaker Michael Madigan and his allies. While we don’t know where this investigation will end, one thing is clear, Illinois government should not be under the thumb of the man at the center of this mess. The people of Illinois deserve leadership that isn’t based on any quid-pro-quo. Governor Pritzker needs to immediately and unequivocally call for Madigan to resign now.”
