44 Fayette County residents in their twenties test positive for COVID-19

As of September 18, there have been 44 Fayette County residents in their twenties who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

There have been 737 residents in their twenties in the county who had been tested, meaning that six percent of those tested have the coronavirus. Through September 18, there have been 300 confirmed COVID-19 cases and three deaths from the coronavirus in Fayette County.

Illinois gathers all of its COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it's transmission.
