Kell Fire Protection Department responded to 20 calls in 2018 - 31 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kell included 17 fires - five structure fires, four vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $28,500 in fire loss - or about $1,676 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Kell Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $256,560 in 2018.
