Breese Fire Protection District responded to 39 calls in 2018 - 31.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Breese included 15 fires - nine structure fires, one vehicle fire and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $6,510 in fire loss - or about $434 per fire.

The department also received 24 false calls.

The Breese Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $342,785 in 2018.
