Midland Fire Protection District responded to 49 calls in 2018 - 345.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Midland included 16 fires - seven structure fires, three vehicle fires and six other fires.

The department also received 33 false calls.

The Midland Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $128,933 in 2018.
