HSHS HOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL: Holy Family earns national recognition

Award

HSHS Holy Family Hospital issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.

HSHS Holy Family Hospital is pleased to announce it has been named a 2020 Pinnacle of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing clients from health care organizations nationwide on the basis of extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence for at least three years in Clinical Quality Performance.

Additionally, Holy Family was also named a 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award honors top-performing health care organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or above for performance in Clinical Quality.

Holy Family Hospital was evaluated for clinical quality in areas such as the emergency department, outpatient services and for their delivery of care for conditions such as stroke and venous thromboembolism over the past two-year period.

Both of these Press Ganey excellence awards are highly regarded symbols of achievement nationally in the health care industry. According to HSHS Holy Family’s President and CEO Kelly Sager, the awards represent an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care.

“These awards demonstrate the hard work and dedication of our providers and colleagues to enhancing the quality care provided to our patients,” Sager said. “We utilize the best practices of daily safety huddles, multidisciplinary care team and innovation meetings along with many other clinical auditing best practices, while keeping the patient at the center of our approach. I couldn’t be prouder of our colleagues and providers for their unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality care to their patients and our communities each day.”

“The caregivers and staff of HSHS Holy Family Hospital touch the lives of patients and their families in profound ways,” said Patrick T. Ryan, chairman and chief executive officer at Press Ganey. “These awards reflect their deep commitment to listening to the voices of their patients, and I continue to be humbled and inspired by their heroic efforts to care for patients in the face of the uncertainty, stress and fear brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Press Ganey pioneered the health care performance improvement movement 35 years ago, and today partners with more than 41,000 health care facilities in its mission to reduce patient suffering and enhance caregiver resilience to improve the overall safety, quality and experience of patient care.
