1. Call to Order—7:00 pm

2. Public Comment/Recognition of Visitors/Good News Report
a. Public Comment: None
b. Good news Report: The annual “Elf Drive” for charity received approximately four vanloads of items to assist Clinton County families in need. Kristi Toennies received the Illinois Principal’s Association Board Member of the Year award for the Kaskaskia Region and was recognized for her achievement.
3. Tax Levy Special Hearing
a. A special hearing was entered for the purpose of receiving public comment regarding the 2020 Aviston Elementary SD #21 tax levy.
b. Time was allowed for public comment regarding the 2020 tax levy; no public comment was received.
c. Motion by Jansen, second by Schulte to accept the2020 tax levy for Aviston Elementary SD #21 as presented.

6. Superintendent’s Report
a. COVID-19/School Health Updates – Aviston Elementary completed three weeks of the hybrid learning schedule due to reaching the 10-day COVID-related student absences threshold set by the Board in September. The highest average was 48.9 students absent due to either being COVID-positive or having to quarantine as a close contact to a COVID-positive individual. This occurred on 11/24/20 and 11/25/20. The current average is 25.1 absences and falling quickly, with 8 COVID-related absences on the day of 12/11/20.
b. Technology/Chromebooks Update – The first round of Chromebooks ordered in June through ESSERS/Digital Divide grant money was received and were deployed over Thanksgiving Break. Each grade level now has a set of Chromebooks to share between two classes and there is a small reserve of Chromebooks that were used as loanable devices for junior high students during the hybrid instructional schedule.
c. Open Positions Update – The Technology Coordinator position received one applicant and remains open to accept applications. Superintendent Hamil has been investigating companies that offer technology support solutions for educational settings.
7. New Business
a. Consideration to Hire Full-Time Substitute Teacher Position
1. Motion by Thole, second by Strubhart to hire Caitlyn Milligan as a full time substitute teacher and paraprofessional aide for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

b. PRESS Policy Update #106 – Second Reading – Adoption
1. Motion by Voss, second by Schulte to adopt school policy updates from PRESS Policy Issue #106 as presented.
2. Roll Call: Thole, aye; Voss, aye; Eversgerd, aye; Jansen, aye; Toennies, aye; Schulte, aye; Strubhart, aye. None opposed. None Absent.
c. Technology Support Service Options – No Action
1. Options were presented and discussed for school technology support options.
2. No action taken.
8. **Closed Session--Closed session may be used to discuss contract negotiations, employee issues and other items as deemed necessary by the board and as approved in 5 ILCS 120/2 of the Open Meetings Act.
