City of Carlinville City Council met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Downey, Alderman Harber, Alderman Koller, Alderman Link, Alderman McClain, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Ober, Mayor Sarah Oswald, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, City Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Police Chief Haley, Brian Zilm Zoning/Economic Dev/Grant Writing, Woodard and Curran Representative Dan Held Absent: Alderman LeVora

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Link to approve minutes, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Treasurers Report - Motion was made to approve Treasurers Report by Alderman Harber, seconded Ober, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills – Motion was made to approve bills by Alderman Koller, seconded by Link, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Police Report – Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve police report, seconded by Wagstaff motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Library Board of Trustees Appointment – Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve Polly Eldred’s appointment to the Library Board, after correspondence was received by the board and mayor confirmed appointment, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Dan Held of Woodard and Curran explained the current water situation. He explained the manganese in the water is down now and we will now begin to flush the water system to try to further improve water quality.

Old Business

Ordinance Approving Extension with CoBank – Motion was made to approve an ordinance approving extension with CoBank, after a motion was made by Alderman Link, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously.

Lake II Pump Replacement Approval – Flygt pump at Lake II needs to be replaced, motion was made to approve purchasing pump from Vandevanter Engineering for $29,125.00 by Alderman Downey, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

WTP Filter Cleaning Approval – Motion was made by Alderman Link to approve replacing two (2) of the five (5) filters that need to be replaced for $16,000.00 each, by Alderman Link, seconded by Harber, motion passed unanimously. Dan Held suggested budgeting for the next fiscal year for remaining filters.

New Business

None

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:15 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
