Meetingroom02

Macoupin County Executive Committee met Oct. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Harding (Remote), Pomatto (Remote), Acord, Dragovich (Remote), Starr, Thomas, Wiggins, Duncan

ABSENT:

II. AGENDA ITEMS

1. Approve Draft Agenda for October Full Board Meeting

Motion by Thomas, seconded by Wiggins to approve the draft agenda for the October Board meeting.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: David Thomas, Member

SECONDER: Tony Wiggins, Member

AYES: Harding, Pomatto, Acord, Dragovich, Starr, Thomas, Wiggins

2. Non-Union Employee Timesheets

Clerk Duncan passed out the non-union timesheets presented to his office for the Board. The Animal Control Administrator had not submitted a timesheet, but Starr said he would be meeting with her soon on that subject.

3. Board Room Conference Call Audio and Video Equipment Purchase

Clerk Duncan said this was after he had asked board members about upgrading the conference call equipment in the Board room. After reviewing some options, the one he was recommending was called Meeting Owl. This has 8 smart microphones that can pick up 18 foot audio radius vs. the 10 foot radius of conference call phone. Speakers are 360 and face out towards the room instead of up towards the ceiling like phone. Video camera has 360 degree capability and can zoom to who is speaking for those watching. This has the option to add a second owl to add an additional 8 feet audio radius that would take us to 26 ft if necessary. We could also add a Meeting HQ to in that will allow for a simple start up of zoom meetings instead of the two step process I have now.

Cost of Meeting Owl is $999 dollars.

Cost of Meeting HQ is $1,799 dollars with a $240 dollar annual charge

Total upfront cost is $2,798 and $240 annually

For comparison, the phone we have costs $849 (bought by probation)

This would be American Rescue Plan funding eligible if the Board wanted to move that way.

Motion by Wiggins, seconded by Harding to recommend the purchase.

RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Tony Wiggins, Member

SECONDER: Bill Harding, Chair

AYES: Harding, Pomatto, Acord, Dragovich, Starr, Thomas, Wiggins
