Report: Central School District spent $12,513 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Central Community High School District 71 was up 4.4 percent from five years ago, according to the South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Clinton County school district spent $11,984 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,513 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 564 to 611 students over the same period.

Central's spending in 2019-20 was 13.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
