Analysis: Edinburg administrators rank 72nd in state for average pay

Administrators in Edinburg Community Unit School District 4 earn an average of $135,874 per year, ranking 72nd out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 63.7 percent higher than in 2016 and 47.6 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 22.1 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Edinburg School District in Christian County enrolled 251 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 189 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
