Illinois state Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) showed her support for events in Illinois’s 58th District and over the weekend took part in the Columbia Days parade.
Columbia Days, in Columbia, Illinois, spans two days and includes a parade, amusement rides, games, music, and other family friendly activities, according to the city's website.
"Beautiful day for a parade," Bryant wrote in an Aug. 20 Facebook post where she also shared pictures from the event.
Bryant was unopposed in the June 28 Republican primary election and easily won re-election to serve as a the state senator for District 58, according to election results posted by the Journal Star.
Bryant recently attended an announcement of funding to renovate the Rend Lake Resort and Conference Center, South West Illinois News reported. Bryant wrote that she was "so pleased" to be able to celebrate the plans to fix the "special site," in an Aug. 3 Facebook post.
In June, she also joined state Rep. David Friess (R-Red Bud) on a tour of the Baldwin Power Plant to talk about energy price increases and future projects, according to South West Illinois News.
