Blackburn Volleyball was defeated on Tuesday night by Knox College. The final score of the match was 3-1. The following were the set score of the match:

Set 4: Knox 25, Blackburn 18
Knox College took an early lead in the first set and maintained the lead until the Beavers began mountaing a comeback late in the set. However, Knox College was able to run away with the first set win, thanks to a pair of kills from Catessa Duran.
Blackburn's Emilie King was unstoppable during the second set. King had a total of seven service aces during the match. Six of these aces were obtained during the second set. She recorded an impressive serving percentage of .900. In addition to her service aces, King's statline was just as astonishing on the defensive side. She was able to collect ten digs, along with 23 service receptions. King also led the Beavers in kills, tallying ten in the match.
Knox College shifted the momentum following the second set. Catessa Duran was the offensive threat for Knox College, as she led her team in kills with a total of 21. Abbie Layne had twelve, while Thao Luong finished with seven.
The Beavers as a team totaled 41 kills, 37 assists, 14 service aces, 83 service receptions, and 77 digs. Blackburn also had seven team blocks, with multiple players obtaining block assists during the match. Knox College finished with 53 kills, 46 assists, ten service aces, 71 service receptions, and 82 digs.
The Beavers move to an overall record of 1-3. Their next game will be on Friday, September 16th. The Beavers will travel to Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois to play in their final nonconference matches before conference play begins next Wednesday. Their first match of the tournament will be against Augustana College, and is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
