City of Assumption Finance Committee met Dec. 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall by Chairman Gary Nelsen.

Roll call was answered by Alderpersons Nelsen, Reed and Sullivan. Also present was Mayor Page, Treasurer Angel Palmer and City Clerk Janet Waller.

Alderperson Nelsen made a motion to approve the November 28, 2022 Finance Committee meeting minutes, seconded by Alderman Sullivan. Motion carried with Alderperson Nelsen, Reed and Sullivan voting aye and 0 nays.

The video equipment failed recording but the meeting was recorded by audio. Under old business:

No update on the damage from the tents at the tennis courts uptown.

Under new business:

The committee discussed the TIF report should be ready by council and agreed to put on the agenda for a vote for the next step of the TIF feasibility study. The committee questioned if the engineering report has been completed.

Mayor Page noted Water Supt had gotten called out on some water issues during Christmas.

The Illinois Housing Authority roofing grant was denied. More information will be discussed on how to reapply to get the grant during the next round.

The change order for the Larochelle Project was reviewed and will be added to the agenda. The police department received a $500 grant from Walmart.
