Men's basketball wins second consecutive game, pulls into fourth place in SLIAC standings

The men's basketball team evened their season series with Eureka by taking a 124-116 decision on Saturday in H.J. Long Gymnasium.  With the win, Greenville holds a four way tie for fourth place in the SLIAC standings.

Jarred Johnson made 6-of-13 shots from the floor, including 2-of-7 three-pointers, and 9-of-10 free throws to lead the team with 23 points.

Kaidyn Johnson and Keishun Thomas each added 16 points for the Panthers, and Carlos Crespo had 15 points.

Darius Scott chipped in 14 points, and Trenton Lee had 11 points.

Joseph Craig rounded out the list of Greenville double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Greenville led 60-55 at halftime and pushed their advantage to 13 points with 2:01 to play in the game before eventually winning by eight points.

Donato Pakak was active on the glass with nine rebounds, and Jamie Calmese added eight rebounds.

Thomas, Pakak, Crespo, and K. Johnson all had three assists, and Craig provided two of Greenville's six steals.

The Panthers (4-15, 3-5 SLIAC) will have an opportunity to avenge another loss with a game at home against Webster on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
