City of Hillsboro City Council met July 6

City of Hillsboro City Council met July 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Hillsboro City Council "Special Meeting"

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am.

Roll call was taken and those present were Mayor Downs and Commissioners Wright, Butler and Ward. Commissioner Justison was absent

The "Pledge of Allegiance" was recited.

There were no public comments.

Motion was made by Commissioner Ward and seconded by Commissioner Wright to approve a pickle ball tournament to be held at Central park. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion was made by Commissioner Ward and seconded by Commissioner Butler to approve closing roads for the Old Settlers Celebration. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion was made by Commissioner Ward and seconded by Commissioner Butler to approve PLC Pavement Striping to stripe portions of Main St. from Tilson St. to the south side of the Courthouse Square for a cost of $2,703.71. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion was made by Commissioner Butler and seconded by Commissioner Ward to approve hiring Cassidy Dunavan as a patrolman in the police department. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion to Adjourn was made at 8:12 am by Commissioner Butler and seconded by Commissioner Ward. Motion carried 4-0.
