Macoupin County Board Road and Bridge met Committee Feb. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Wiggins, Reinhart

ABSENT: Rosentreter

II. AUDIT BILLS

1. Review and Recommend monthly claims

Claims 14038 through 14079 totaling $ 101,035.92 were read and the following motion made:

Motion made by Heuer, seconded by Wiggins to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Gordon Heuer, Vice Chair

SECONDER: Tony Wiggins, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Wiggins

ABSENT: Rosentreter

III. 50/50 PETITIONS

IV. EXECUTIVE SESSION

1. Resolve into executive session

Motion made by Barr, seconded by Wiggins to resolve into Executive Session at 9:04 a.m. to discuss the mechanic position.

RESULT: RESOLVE INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Leann Barr, Member

SECONDER: Tony Wiggins, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Wiggins

ABSENT: Rosentreter

2. New mechanic position

3. Arise from executive session

Motion made by Wiggins, seconded by Armour to arise from Executive Session at 9:28 p.m.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Tony Wiggins, Member

SECONDER: Todd Armour, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Wiggins

ABSENT: Rosentreter

V. NEW BUSINESS

1. Hire new mechanic

Motion made by Armour, seconded by Barr offer the fulltime mechanic position to Joshua Austin of Virden pending the passing of a pre-employment drug test and on condition Mr. Austin obtains a minimum of a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement before the end of his probationary period.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Leann Barr, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Wiggins

ABSENT: Rosentreter

VI. DISCUSSION

1. ARPA

The Committee was updated on the ARPA projects. All six of the pickup trucks and the boom mower have been delivered and payment with ARPA funds has been made. Over $ 450,000 in ARPA funds were expended this month.
