2025 Fiscal Year Budget for the City of Hillsboro: Commissioner Ward reported the general fund in the proposed budget is approximately $50,000 over budget, but that difference is made up by the Challacombe mineral rights that were sold in the previous fiscal year. He also stated there is a lot less money in this year’s budget than prior years because there is no more ARPA money coming in.
Ordinance No. 1794 Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the City of Hillsboro, Illinois for the Fiscal Year Ending April 30, 2025: Clerk Jenkins reported the appropriation ordinance must be passed after the budget in order to authorize the City to spend money in the fiscal year. He stated this ordinance authorizes approximately $14.9 million, which is 25 percent more than the budgeted expenditures in order to give the City some cushion.
Motion to Adjourn was made at 6:56 p.m. by Commissioner Justison and seconded by Commissioner Ward. Motion carried with a 5-0 vote in favor.
