Macoupin County Board Road and Bridge Committee met June 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Kiel, Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins, Reinhart

ABSENT: Adden

II. AUDIT BILLS

1. Review and Recommend monthly claims

Claims 14190 through 14218 totaling $ 110,843.90 were read and the following motion made:

Motion made by Rosentreter, seconded by Barr to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Molly Rosentreter, Member

SECONDER: Leann Barr, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

ABSENT: Adden

III. 50/50 PETITIONS

The following 50/50 project petitions were presented:

The County’s obligation for the projects will be the “County Share” only.

Motion made by Wiggins seconded by Armour to approve the petitions and recommend passage by the full board.

RESULT: PASSED [UNANIMOUS]

IV. NEW BUSINESS

1. Preliminary engineering agreement with Veenstra-Kimm for replacement of Hillcrest Road Bridge over Joes Creek

The Preliminary Engineering Agreement with Veenstra-Kimm for the replacement of the bridge on Hillcrest Road, County Highway 33, had not been received from Venstra-Kimm. The following motion was made:

Motion made by Wiggins, seconded by Armour to table the agreement.

RESULT: TABLED [UNANIMOUS]

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

ABSENT: Adden

V. DISCUSSION

1. ARPA

The Committee was updated on the ARPA projects. The construction of the salt storage building is finished except for the paving and the lighting. All four tandems are at Viking-Cives waiting for the bodies to be installed. The bridge designs are proceeding. We are waiting for Corp of Engineers permits and environmental signoffs. Reinhart is looking for trucks to replace the Isuzu paint truck and a mini-trackhoe.

2. Brighton-Bunker Hill Road

The Brighton-Bunker Hill Road construction is near completion and should be open in a couple of weeks. We are waiting for the sign installation, final grading and seeding.

3. County Fair

Reinhart reported the Highway Department donated three culverts to the County Fair to help with their drainage and road improvements.
