City of Greenville Planning Commission met Aug. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

The Planning Commission was called to order at 6:00 PM by Chair Jack Chism. 

1. ROLL CALL   

Committee Members Present: Planning Commission Member Brent Shaw, Planning Commission Member Dennis Warren, Planning Commission Member Eugene Holt, and Planning Commission Member Jack Chism

Committee Members Absent: Planning Commission Member Chance Vohlken  

Staff Present: City Manager Jo Hollenkamp, Code Enforcement Officer Jeff Ketten and City Clerk Jody Weiss 

Public Present: Jeff Leidel 

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE  

3. PUBLIC HEARING  

3.1. Open Public Hearing to discuss ordinance to amend the Use Matrix Table and to amend chapter 153 of the unified code in its entirety. The amendment to chapter 153 of the unified code was tabled. 

There were no public comments. 

Motion by Dennis Warren, seconded by Jack Chism, Motion to open Public Hearing at 6:02 PM.

3.2. Close Public Hearing 

Motion by Brent Shaw, seconded by Dennis Warren, Motion to close Public Hearing at 6:04 PM.

5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES  

5.1. Approve the minutes of Planning Commission dated June 3, 2024. 

Motion by Brent Shaw, seconded by Dennis Warren, Motion to approve the minutes of Planning Commission dated June 3, 2024.

 6. MATTERS OF CONSIDERATION  

6.1. Consideration of Ordinance to amend the Use Matrix Table 153.0202(A) of the Unified Development Code, to make bars, taverns, and nightclubs a permitted use in the (CN) Commercial Neighborhood and (CG) Commercial General zones. And to also remove the word "nightclubs" from the Use Matrix Table in its entirety. 

Motion by Dennis Warren, seconded by Eugene Holt, Motion to recommend to the City Council Ordinance amending the Use Matrix Table 153.0202(A) of the Unified Development Code, to make bars, taverns, and nightclubs a permitted use in the (CN) Commercial Neighborhood and (CG) Commercial General zones. And to also remove the word "nightclubs" from the Use Matrix Table in its entirety.

6.2. Consideration of Ordinance to amend chapter 153 of the unified development code in its entirety.

Motion by Brent Shaw, seconded by Eugene Holt, to table this item amending chapter 153 of the unified development code in its entirety.
