HSHS St. Joseph's welcomes first baby of 2025

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese announced the birth of their first baby of 2025, Cal Michael Thompson. Born at precisely midnight on January 1st, Cal weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces and measured 20½ inches in length. His parents, Matthew and Haley Thompson from Breese, welcomed him with joy.

To celebrate this occasion, the hospital presented Cal and his family with a gift basket from the St. Joseph’s Women and Infants Center and the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary. The basket included various baby items such as a quilt, a knitted blanket, stuffed animals, a lotion set, and a crib cross. Additionally, the Breese Lions Club gifted the family a $100 gift card.

St. Joseph’s Hospital provides comprehensive services for mothers and infants and has received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care. This certification acknowledges their patient-centered care for both complicated and uncomplicated pregnancies and births.
