Macoupin County Board Economic Development Committee met Feb. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Officials and Department Heads Present: Pete Duncan

1. Call to Order

1.1 Roll Call

There were 6 members present, Payne remote, and 1 member absent.

2. Agenda Items

2.1 Grant Manager Job Description and Budgeted Salary for Grant

Klausing passed out a sample job description for the grant manager that the committee reviewed. In order to finalize the CEJA grant, a better job description would need to be submitted to DCEO, but that did not mean it would need to be etched in stone. They also needed to come up with a firmer number of what the fringe benefits would be for that office. The committee said to use the $60,000 salary figure and calculate fringe benefits off of that. Once DCEO finalized the grant paperwork, they would hopefully advertise for the position and get someone hired.

Motion to recommend to the full Board the initial job description for the grant manager to be submitted to DCEO and a salary budget of $60,000 with the associated fringe benefits be budgeted for the grant manager office.

The northern portion of the farmground north of Carlinville was also out of bid and a notice had been run in the paper and was also posted on Facebook. There would be a bid opening at the next meeting.

Klausing said she had submitted the application for the next step in the BEAD broadband grant and had been told their application was very good.
