City of Carlinville City Council met March 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Downey, Alderman Ober, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Reese, Alderman Link, Alderman Harber, Alderman LeVora, Alderman Demuzio City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, Mayor Oswald, Budget Officer Linda Boente, City Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Bobbi Bates, Economic Development

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Reese, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills - Motion was made to approve bills by Alderman Harber, seconded by LeVora, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Jon Convery Correspondence – Request for permission for use of part of the square on April 25 and 26 and October 10 and 11 for Brave Days was approved after a motion was made by Alderman Downey, seconded by Link, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Bobbi Bates announced we have received a grant from Lotus Wind Energy for $50,000.00, mostly to be used for signage for historical landmarks in the area.

Alderman Link stated he is not running for mayor, it is another person with the last name of Link, also reminded people of bags for Scouting for Food that were passed out, to fill and put out on Saturday.

Cody Jackson spoke regarding rezoning of 512 Mulberry and expressed his concern of water run off and proximity to his property.
