Macoupin County Board Building and Grounds Committee met March 31.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Members Present: Harry Starr, Jim Ibberson, John Blank, Gordon Heuer, Ryan Kilduff, John Trevino, and Tony Wiggins

Members Absent:

Officials and Department Heads Present: Pete Duncan

1. Call to Order

1.1 Roll Call

There were 7 members present.

2. Agenda Items

2.1 Presentation from Verigy on Energy Upgrades

Representatives from Verigy came to discuss their recommendations. Gordon Schweitzer discussed the company and the work they had done. The first study for lighting upgrades in the Courthouse and Animal Control facility. The projected costs would be $100,000 and the return cost would be about 10 years. They would not be replacing existing custom lighting features but would get them with better LED lighting. They also look at solar potential projects at the Jail, Animal Control building, Highway Department, and Sheriff building and jail. They were suggesting waiting on the solar until the uncertainty about federal support for those projects. Starr thanked them for their presentation and said they would take a look at it.

2.2 Courthouse HVAC Project update

Starr said there was a meeting with the contractor regarding the Courthouse HVAC last week. They would be starting on April 7th and do the demo work to the boiler and what prep work they could before summer and then come back in late August to hopefully complete the project once the final materials are in house.

Motion by Ibberson, seconded by Kilduff to adjourn at 5:37 pm. All in favor. Motion carried.
