State Senator Jason Plummer has expressed his views following Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's visit to Springfield, Illinois. In a statement, Plummer criticized the state's sanctuary policies, describing them as "extreme" and suggesting they have significant consequences for the state.

Plummer remarked, "The visit from Secretary Noem is a wake-up call for anyone who hasn’t been paying attention to the consequences of Illinois’ extreme sanctuary policies." He contended that these policies have garnered national attention while limiting law enforcement capabilities and transforming Illinois into "a safe haven for criminal illegal immigrants." Furthermore, he claimed that these actions increase costs for Illinois taxpayers already under financial strain.

He further stated, "Pritzker seems more interested in scoring points with national progressives than protecting the people he was elected to serve." Plummer emphasized that shielding violent offenders from federal law enforcement does not equate to compassion but rather endangers communities and constitutes a "public safety disaster."

In anticipation of Governor Pritzker's upcoming trip to Washington, Plummer stressed the need for immediate action. He asserted, "Illinois families need answers now. They deserve transparency, accountability, and a government that puts their safety first. They deserve the truth."
