There were 5 members present and 2 members absent.
2. Agenda Items
2.1 Update on Ground Appraisal for Business Park Property
Klausing discussed the appraiser's schedule for the business property, expecting an appraisal within three weeks, providing two numbers: one with and one without the wedge to the fairgrounds.
2.2 Update on Broadband Funding
Duncan provided an update on broadband, including an upcoming meeting to distribute economic cost modeling for all counties and responses from a survey with over 300 participants. The potential delay of Illinois BEAD deployment by up to two years due to proposed changes in the Speed for BEAD Act was highlighted. The committee discussed the potential for federal grant money and the importance of having preparations in place. Meeting with service providers was considered, with Madison already expressing interest.
The possibility of involving U of I people in meetings was raised to address questions about broadband deployment.
