The HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese Auxiliary has contributed $30,000 to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. This donation will aid in acquiring essential medical equipment and comfort items for various hospital departments.
The annual contribution from the Auxiliary supports the hospital's ability to purchase necessary equipment and essentials that enhance patient care. This year's funds are allocated for a therapy machine in Outpatient Rehabilitation, an ultrasound probe in the Specialty Clinic, a vital signs machine and cardiac monitor on the Med/Surg unit, and new stretcher mattresses for improved patient comfort during exams and transport.
“We are incredibly grateful for the Auxiliary’s continued support and generosity,” said David Garris, Director of HSHS Southern Illinois Foundations. “These contributions help us respond quickly to evolving equipment needs and improve both the safety and experience of our patients.”
The Auxiliary is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and advancing St. Joseph’s welfare through public relations, service, and fundraising efforts. Their projects include an annual Used Book Fair, hospital Gift Shop operations, quilt raffles, flower and bundt cake sales, providing in-kind gifts for patients, and offering volunteer support at hospital events.
