Salem Township Hospital offers diabetes support group focused on exercise and nutrition

The Salem Township Hospital will host a Diabetes Support & Nutrition Education Group meeting on Thursday, September 25, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The event will take place in the Linda Mobley Community Room at the hospital’s location, 1201 Ricker Drive, Salem, Illinois.

The session is titled “Exercising with Diabetes: Activity for Every Ability.” Topics to be discussed include the importance of exercise in diabetes management, best practices for fueling the body to promote muscle gain and healthy recovery, types of exercise suitable for different fitness levels, indoor exercise options during colder months, and stretches and tips for moving safely.

Light snacks designed to be diabetes-friendly will be available. According to organizers, “Group meetings are free and open to all ages.”
