Of the 139 students attending Edinburg Elementary School in 2018, 16.9 percent scored proficient in English Language Arts and 12.3 percent were proficient in math, according to a report recently released by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
State Representative Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) earned unanimous support from the Illinois House for legislation aimed at curbing elder abuse in Illinois. Bryant says the idea for the legislation came from a concerned citizen that lost a family member to elder abuse by a fellow relative.
