Analysis: Centralia pays $5.13 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Centralia Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.7 percent of the $837,118 the Centralia Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.13 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Centralia contributed $700,700 to the fund, which saw a $73,801 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $136,419, or 16.3 percent, in 2016.
