Analysis: Litchfield pays $3.89 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Litchfield Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.4 percent of the $414,379 the Litchfield Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.89 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Litchfield contributed $308,235 to the fund, which saw a $23,781 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $79,054, or 19.1 percent, in 2016. Another $27,090 came from other unspecified sources.
