Analysis: Centralia pays $1.57 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Salem Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 61.2 percent of the $239,113 the Salem Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $1.57 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Centralia contributed $146,414 to the fund, which saw a $23,715 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $92,699, or 38.8 percent, in 2016.
