Everybody remembers a favorite school teacher.
It was no different for Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) at the April 20 House floor debate when the state representative proudly announced his top teacher during his point of personal privilege.
Pointing to the upper chamber, Davidsmeyer first introduced students from Salem Lutheran School in Jacksonville.

“This is the school I went to through sixth grade,” Davidsmeyer said.
He said when one of life’s most common questions comes up -- “Who was your favorite teacher?” -- he always answers the name of the teacher he pointed to.
“Mrs. (Jane) Henderson up there was my first-grade teacher and the one that I always remembered as one of my favorites, so I want to thank them for coming to town and being here,” Davidsmeyer said.
The state representative concluded asking the House floor to give Mrs. Henderson and the students a warm Springfield welcome, which they were glad to do.
