Report: Iuka spent $10,179 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Iuka Community Consolidated School District 7 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Marion County school district spent $8,786 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,179 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 244 to 213.

Iuka's spending in 2016-17 was 22 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
