Report: Aviston spent $6,555 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Aviston School District 21 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Clinton County school district spent $6,427 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $6,555 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 397 to 385.

Aviston's spending in 2016-17 was 49 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
