Report: Kell spent $9,722 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Kell Consolidated School District 2 is down 3 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Marion County school district spent $9,990 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,722 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 118 to 111.

Kell's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
