Report: Sandoval spent $9,752 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Sandoval Community Unit School District 501 is down 6 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Marion County school district spent $10,385 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,752 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 531 to 483.

Sandoval's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
