Report: Northwestern spent $10,368 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Northwestern Community Unit School District 2 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $10,759 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,368 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 345 to 369.

Northwestern's spending in 2016-17 was 20 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
