Greenville FPD responds to 45 fires in 2017

Greenville Fire Protection District responded to 117 calls in 2017 - 18.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Greenville included 45 fires - 17 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 19 other fires.

In all, the department saw $471,800 in fire loss - or about $10,484 per fire.

The department also received 72 false calls.

The Greenville Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $261,236 in 2017.
