Stonington Fire Protection District responded to 45 calls in 2017 - 11.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Stonington included 42 fires - 21 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 19 other fires.

In all, the department saw $10,000 in fire loss - or about $238 per fire.

The department also received three false calls, including two malicious calls and one other false calls.

The Stonington Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $63,523 in 2017.
